The Family First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) Has Taken Effect

BFJ Financial Group recognizes that the COVID-19 pandemic has had an economic impact on all of our lives and we are committed to helping you work through these unprecedented times by providing you with timely information regarding economic topics. The Family First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. The provisions apply starting yesterday, April 1, 2020 and continue through December 31, 2020. Here is a copy of the U.S. Department of Labor’s poster that provides details regarding an employer’s requirements under the FFCRA including:

  • Paid Leave Entitlements
  • Eligible Employees
  • Qualifying Reasons for Leave Related to COVID-19
  • Enforcement of the FFCRA

Employers are required to advise employees of their rights under the FFCRA by distributing a copy of the attached poster to all of their employees and/or posting it in a common area at their place of business.

We are available to answer questions regarding your responsibilities as a business owner under the FFCRA.

We will continue to update you on this and other coronavirus-related economic issues in the coming days as more information becomes available.
